Film Screening- Belle (2013)

Belle follows the story of the illegitimate daughter of a navy admiral as she is trained and brought up by her aristocratic uncle and his wife. The film follows her poignant journey as she leads the charge to abolish slavery in Britain.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion reflecting on what Belle represents to us today. The panel will discuss Black experience of class and the significance of Black expression and representation

This film will be Captioned, and the introduction and post-film discussion will be BSL interpreted and Live Captioned.
