Black Sporting Histories

Black athletes have played a key role in the development and history of many sports that mean a lot to us, from amateur levels all the way to top of the professional game.

Join a panel of speakers for a discussion of Black sporting histories and of the significance of sporting practices in the struggle against racism.

Co-hosted by the subject area of Sociology, University of Glasgow, and the Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights (CRER), and featuring contributions from sports' historian Andy Mitchell (on the history of Black footballers in Scotland); from Dr. Anima Adjepong, of the University of Cincinnati (on the role of women in the Black sporting diaspora), and from representatives of United Glasgow (on grassroots football and inclusion).
