The Tontine heads speak!

Curator for Scottish History, Tony Lewis, will review the significance of the Tontine head sculptures in the St Nicholas Garden at Provand’s Lordship in terms of their place in Georgian Glasgow’s administration and government and coded message to celebrate its links with imperial colonies in the Americas and an economy dependent on enslaved plantation workforces.
